He had come to demonstrate “peacefully”. Four people were indicted for meeting violence after the aggression on Sunday of an elected environmentalist from Seyne-sur-Mer (Var), seriously injured on the sidelines of a rally of local Reconquest activists, we learned Friday after the Toulon prosecutor’s office.
Arrested Thursday morning, they were referred Friday at the end of the day for violence in a meeting resulting in an ITT (total incapacity for work) of more than eight days and placed under judicial control. Their trial is scheduled for July 4, said the public prosecutor of Toulon, Samuel Filniez.
Hakim Bouaksa, elected municipal ELLV opposition Seyne-sur-Mer, had filed a complaint on Sunday, presenting a 30-day ITT after being attacked on the sidelines of a “banquet” of Reconquest activists organized in a campsite. The prosecution described his injuries as “very serious”.
The four people arrested are “rather people in charge of the operation of the campsite”, specified the prosecutor, without being able to say whether they also had a profile of activists or sympathizers of the far-right party. “The militant side or not is not a determining subject of criminal responsibilities”, insisted Samuel Finielz.
The prosecution had opened on Sunday “a flagrant investigation for aggravated violence”, entrusted to the police station of Seyne-sur-Mer. In a press releaseEurope Écologie-les Verts (EELV) had declared that Hakim Bouaksa had come to demonstrate “peacefully” against the holding of this rally in a campsite, and that he had been “violently attacked”, suffering, among other things, from a fracture arm, head trauma and cervical sprain.
Marine Tondelier, the leader of the environmental party, said on Twitter that he had been “struck by the Reconquest security service” and had asked “apologies” from Éric Zemmour’s party. The far-right movement had, for its part, denied the involvement of its security service. “It was with the campsite staff, exasperated by the blocking and the insults uttered against all their customers, that the latter had an altercation”, he had ured.
