Tours strengthens, changes in Saint-Nazaire
Two young players will join the ranks of Tours next season. The champion of France, which must have seen many actors from the titles leave obtained this season (with the Coupe de France), and will play in the 2023-2024 Champions League, announced on Wednesday the arrival of receiver-attacker Märt Tammearu and libero Luca Ramon.
The Estonian, 22 years old (1.98m), played this season in Belgium, in Roeselare, finalist of the CEV Cup after having faced the TVB in the group stage of the C1 (a failure, a victory). Luca Ramon is the same age and returns to his origins (he was born in Tours and his father was a smuggler there), after wearing the jerseys of Poitiers and Narbonne (winner of the C3 in 2022). Selected for the France team by Andrea Giani for the first week of the League of Nations in Japan, he had to give up his place, injured. He will also replace in Tours the current libero of the Blues, Benjamin Diez, future resident of Belchatow, in Poland.
Five departures and a recruit for Saint-Nazaire
Saint-Nazaire, promoted last season and semi-finalist in the Championship, has for its part recruited the American Jordan Ewert (26 years old, 1.94m). He has just completed three seasons in Germany, at Lünerburg, and has been named the best receiver-attacker in the Bundesliga in the last two editions.
On the other hand, the Nazairians see Hugo Hamacher, Alvaro Gimeno, Marino Marelic, Jean-Philippe Sol, Brendan Gouessant and Quentin Pompon leave, but have retained Kyle Ensing, Helder Spencer, Ludovic Duée, Lourenço Martins, Quinn Isaacson and Nicolas Burel.
