The stadium development work for the 2024 Olympics is leading to a game of musical chairs. After the XV of France, temporarily deprived of Stade France in the coming months, the Top 14 semi-finals, scheduled for the Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Lille, could also be relocated. The enclosure, which will host the basketball group stages during the Games (July 27-August 4) and the handball qualifying events (July 25-August 4), must indeed be fitted out.
Several avenues are envisaged: Bordeaux, which is to host the 2024-2025 semi-finals, or Marseille, which is used to hosting rugby matches: XV of France, Challenge finals and Champions Cup 2022, relocations of the RCT.. It is also at the Stade-Vélodrome that the Top 14 final is scheduled for next season, as well as the match between France and Ireland during the 2024 Six Nations Tournament – during which the Blues will also receive the Italy in Lille (February 25) and England in Lyon (March 16).
