Sabalenka falls in the round of 16 in Berlin
The world number 2, Aryna Sabalenka was eliminated by the Russian Kudermetova (10th) prematurely from the Berlin tournament on gr.
Aryna Sabalenka2nd in the world, was eliminated by Russian Veronika Kudermetova (10th) 6-2, 7-6 (7/2) in the round of 16 of the Berlin gr tournament, who had already lost her favorite Elena Rybakina the day before.
The 25-year-old Belarusian has established herself in the world elite, notably winning the Australian Open at the start of the season before losing in the semi-finals at Roland-Garros.
She also reached the semi-finals at the US Open (2021 and 2022) as well as at Wimbledon (2021) where she will appear from July 3 as one of the favorites.
For her part and for a place in the last four in Berlin, Kudermetova will face her compatriot Ekaterina Alexandrova (22nd) who unceremoniously dismissed the American Coco Gauff (7th) 6-4, 6-0.
