Versatile Real Madrid defender Nacho confirmed on Sunday that he has extended his contract with the Spanish club for a year, which expires at the end of June. “There have always been offers, but I decided to stay one more yearto Real, Nacho told Spanish broadcaster TVE. “I am happy with this decision and I look forward to continuing.»
Nacho, has made 44 appearances for Madrid this season, growing in importance over the years at the club that trained him. The 33-year-old has just been called up to the Spain squad, which will play in the final four of the Nations League, replacing injured Osasuna defender David Garcia.
Nacho was launched at Real by José Mourinho in 2011 and has totaled 319 appearances since then. He has five Champions Leagues and three Spanish league titles, among other trophies.
