Domenico Tedesco, new coach of the Red Devils, gave his list of 24 players for the matches against Austria on June 17 and Estonia on June 20, as part of the qualifications for Euro 2024.
The Belgium coach called today the 24 players who will make up the Belgian selection for the next two games, on June 17 and 20. Among the heads known in France, we find the formidable Lensois scorer Loïs Openda (21 goals), the Strasbourg goalkeeper Matz Sels and the two Rennais Jérémy Doku and Arthur Theate.
On the absent side, Domenico Tedesco will have to do without Amadou Onana (Everton), Leandro Trossard (Arsenal) and Charles De Ketelaere (AC Milan). So, to remedy these absences, some know their first selection with the Red Devils. This is the case of Olivier Deman (Cercles Bruges), Mike Trésor (KRC Genk), Ameen Al-Dakhil (Burnley) and Arnaud Bodart (Standard de Liège).
At a press conference, the coach explained the absence of Toby Alderweireld: “I saw that Toby is ready to come back to the Devils. I spoke to him but he explained to me that he was not ready to join us this month. I think he spoke emotionally after the game and it was too early for him. But of course, the door is open and we will analyze his situation at the next meeting, in September.»
