The Dane, winner of the Critérium du Dauphiné, has made a date.

Winner of the Critérium du Dauphiné (ahead of the Briton Adam Yates at 2’23” and the Australian Ben O’Connor at 2’56”; Guillaume Martin the first Frenchman is 6th at 4’51”), the Dane Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma), the winner of the Tour 2022, in comments reported by AFP, summarized: “I am very happy and very proud to impose myself here. It’s one of the biggest races in the world, arguably the most important week-long race of the season. Send a message? I do not think about it. I don’t watch what he (Pogacar) do. I focus on myself, that’s all I can do. There is still work to do, I still have room for improvement between now and the start of the Tour (July 1st in Bilbao). Of course winning the Tour last year gave me confidence but I always believed in myself, even before. It doesn’t change that much.”
