Garcia not ‘afraid’ of succeeding Spalletti, but ‘starting from zero’ in Naples

French coach Rudi Garcia, freshly arrived in Naples to replace Luciano Spalletti, said he had “not afraid“to take the reins of the club but that he”start from scratcha few weeks after the club’s first Scudetto since the days of Diego Maradona.
The French technician will have the heavy task of replacing Luciano Spalletti, who left at the beginning of the month after ending Napoli’s 33-year wait for the Serie A title.
“I’m not afraid of anything. The title should give players confidence, but when the new season starts, we start from scratch. Players must somehow forget what they have achieved beforeGarcia told reporters during his official presentation.
“We have a quality squad that will help us win games… and the president is ambitious. It means I will have a good team and we can put on a show for the fans“, he explained.
Garcia knows Italian football well having been in charge of AS Roma, which he qualified for the Champions League in 2014 and 2015 before being sacked the following season.
