INTERVIEW – The leader of the right in the embly sees the threat of a motion of censure as a “weapon of deterrence”
LE FIGARO. – Thirty parliamentarians from the presidential party want to put LR face to face with its responsibilities while denouncing its lack of reliability. How do you answer them?
Olivier MARLEIX. – We are not accountable either to Mr. Macron or to his deputies. Unlike them, we know where we are going. My roadmap has been clear since day one: LRs will live up to their own convictions on mastering immigrationthe restoration of minimum sentences, the reduction of public spending… Mr. Macron should not blame us for his lack of direction: he does not know where he is going, we do.
Is an agreement with Macron nevertheless possible?
The president must finally accept this cohabitation with the National embly that the French wanted. There can be no global agreement with this government because we disagree on immigration…
