The FFF in an impe for the TV rights of women’s football
On April 13, the FFF launched a consultation on TV rights for women’s football including the matches of Les Bleues, D1 and the Champions Trophy until 2027. Responses were expected on May 4, but broadcasters have requested a delay. until May 12 to submit their offers. They did not live up to expectations, which did not allow the Federation to award the slightest prize.
Over-the-counter negotiations
After this unsuccessful call for tenders, the FFF must therefore continue with negotiations by mutual agreement with potential buyers. But for the time being, they have, it seems, not started. Today, Canal+ is a broadcaster of D1 against an annual check of 1.2 million euros, while the M6 group retransmits Les Bleues for an amount around 4 million euros per year.
The rights to the Women’s World Cup, which is held from July 20 to August 20 in Australia and New Zealand, have not found takers either, for the moment, on the French market.
