Semiconductor war: Beijing blocks the way for the American giant Micron

Eye for eye, tooth for tooth. Beijing calls on Chinese companies processing sensitive data to stop buying memory chips from the American Micron. In an official statement released on Sunday, China’s cybersecurity administration said Micron’s products “have relatively serious potential network security issues, which pose a major problem for supply chain security.” […] and affects China’s national security”.

On March 31, China announced the opening of an investigation against the American group for reasons of national security. Without specifying what was discovered during the review of the products, Beijing indicates that it no longer wants to see Micron products among so-called “sensitive” infrastructure operators in China, a broad definition that ranges from transport companies to those of the health.
