Video games: London blocks Microsoft’s $70 billion takeover of Activision

It’s a thunderclap in the video game industry. This Wednesday, the British competition authority (CMA) let it be known that it was blocking the takeover of Activision (Call of Duty, Candy Crush) by Microsoft in return for almost 70 billion dollars . This merger would result in making the Xbox manufacturer the world number three in the sector, in terms of revenue, behind its direct rival Sony (PlayStation) and the leader Tencent.
