DECRYPTION – While feverishness wins his camp, the Head of State displays his determination to reform.
From a distance, always. Trade unions asked to meet Emmanuel Macron “emergency” at the Élysée to ask him to withdraw his pension reform; the President of the Republic replied to them in writing. A letter made public Friday in which the Head of State closes the door to their demands, referring to the ongoing parliamentary debate.
“I do not underestimate the dissatisfaction of which you are the spokesperson as the anxieties expressed by many French people worried about never having a pension”, assures Emmanuel Macron in his letter, adding that the time is now at “parliamentary time”, after the “consultations carried out” by the prime minister Elisabeth Borne and the adjustments already made to the text.
